AceShowbiz - "Jersey Shore" star Ronnie Ortiz-Magro has been slapped with five misdemeanour charges after dodging a felony count in his domestic violence case.
The reality TV regular was arrested earlier this month after allegedly hitting his on/off girlfriend Jen Harley and chasing her with a knife during a nasty altercation in Los Angeles, where he was accused of locking her and their 18-month-old daughter Ariana in their rental home.
He was originally booked for kidnapping, but scored a legal break on Wednesday, October 23 when authorities at the Los Angeles County District Attorney's Office declined to pursue felony charges.
The case was handed down to the City Attorney, who has since filed five lesser counts against Ortiz-Magro, including a charge each of domestic violence, brandishing a weapon, resisting arrest, criminal threats, and child endangerment.
The 33 year old previously denied injuring or waving a knife at Harley, insisting he was simply trying to protect their kid.
An emergency protective order was issued against Ortiz-Magro at the time, ordering him to stay away from Harley, but that has since expired, reports TMZ.
