During a visit to 'The Breakfast Club', the actress who plays Lakeisha Grant on 50 Cent's series 'Power' claps back at the people who criticized her acting skills.

AceShowbiz - La La Vazquez has fired back at critics who have slammed her acting talents.

The star, who launched her career as a television host, took on a recurring role as character Lakeisha Grant in 50 Cent's hit crime drama series "Power" in 2014, and she has been dogged by criticism ever since.

She admits she has learned to brush off rude comments about her skills over the years, but they still sting.

"I think you got to be worried when people aren't talking," she said on "The Breakfast Club" radio show on Thursday, October 17. "My thing is that I'm doing it. So, if I couldn't do it, then why am I doing it? If you can do it better then why (are) you not getting the jobs I'm getting? That's how I look at it."

But La La is working to develop her acting skills, adding she put "my all into it," adding, "I didn't start that way, so it's been a different journey for me, but that doesn't mean I can't do it. And I think people just naturally want to hate because you started differently: 'You're not a real actor, you started on the radio.' Alright, maybe I didn't come into it like you, but I put the work in and I continue to put the work in, so that doesn't bother me."

The popular star, who is one of Kim Kardashian's best friends, also insists the social media following she has amassed during her nearly two decades in the spotlight speaks volumes: "I also bring a following with me," the 38-year-old noted. "I almost got 10 million followers on Instagram. People watch what I do."

"What's the point of having these great shows if nobody's watching them? You want people to watch. So, if you can do it better, you bring your 10 million followers and come do what I do."

The final sixth season of La La's show "Power", which also stars rapper 50 Cent, concludes in December. Meanwhile, La La also landed a role on the recent "Beverly Hills, 90210" reboot - as Brian Austin Green's TV wife.
