Rumor has it, the Van Halen star has been quietly battling throat cancer and the rocker believes years of sucking guitar pick led him to contracting the disease.

AceShowbiz - Eddie Van Halen has reportedly been battling throat cancer for several years.
The Van Halen rocker was apparently diagnosed in 2000 and, according to TMZ, he has been flying back and forth between America and Germany for five years for treatment.
Editors at the website report Van Halen believes holding a metal guitar pick in his mouth for several years caused the cancer and after he was diagnosed a part of his tongue was removed. It has also been reported cancer cells spread to his throat in the past and had to be removed.
The 64 year old has yet to comment on the reports.
