During a recent interview at Variety's 2019 Power of Women event in Beverly Hills, California, the powerhouse singer responded to the rumors of her being the singer behind the Flower mask.

AceShowbiz - "The Masked Singer" is currently airing its sophomore season, featuring new celebrities contestants who hide their identities under the masks. Flower, one of the contestants this season, captures people's attention with her singing skills and many people seemingly assume that Mariah Carey is beneath the costume.

During a recent interview with Entertainment Tonight's Lauren Zima at Variety's 2019 Power of Women event in Beverly Hills, California on Friday, October 11, the powerhouse singer responded to the rumors. "There are crazy rumors that you are on 'The Masked Singer' with Nick [Cannon], is this true?" asked Zima, to which Mariah coyly replied, "Bye, girl, bye!"

With the response, Mariah didn't entirely deny the speculation. However, she didn't confirm them either. It seems like viewers of "The Masked Singer" will have to wait a little bit until the Flower unmasks herself.

While Mariah stayed mum about the rumors, the "All I Want for Christmas Is You" hitmaker was more than happy to talk about her upcoming memoir. "Darling, you're not ready," she teased, before adding, "I really mean it." She went on describing her new book "honest," and said that it was such "a cathartic experience [while] working on it."

The ex-wife of Nick Cannon also talked about her feelings after being recognized at Variety's 2019 Power of Women. "I don't often think of myself that way but I was very honored," the mother of two modestly said of the honor.

In her interview with Variety, the singer boldly admitted to being sick of playing nice. "Oftentimes we're taught not to be very expressive about our feelings as women because it's a turnoff, and you know what, I don't really care," she said. "I'm sick of trying to have to be perfect for people because you can never live up to their expectations ever."

She also addressed rumors that she did not get along with the late Whitney Houston and their Oscar-winning duet from "The Prince of Egypt" soundtrack. Describing the experience as "the best," Mariah shared, "I think camaraderie with women you respect is a huge deal."
