The 'Counting On' star and husband John David Duggar reveal in a new interview that she was hospitalized a couple times and made 'multiple visits to the ER for dehydration.'

AceShowbiz - Abbie Grace Duggar is having a hard time over her first pregnancy. Opening up about the "scary times" the "Counting On" star has to endure was none other than her husband John David Duggar, who revealed in an interview that she had been diagnosed with hyperemesis gravidarum.

"It hit her hard, and she was down for probably seven weeks with severe morning sickness," the dad-to-be told Us Weekly. "She got diagnosed with hyperemesis gravidarum, and she was hospitalized a couple times. We made multiple visits to the ER for dehydration."

"She couldn't eat, pretty much, or drink, or anything. So she was actually on IVs and had IVs at home. So that was a pretty scary time," he elaborated.

Determined to be a supportive husband, the 29-year-old assured that he pays extra attention to her needs. "I keep her water filled up, and her snacks for her," he gushed. "I keep her eating and just comfortable. Anything I can get for her, I try to. I run to the store, [get] whatever she needs, just keep her as comfortable as possible when she's feeling bad."

Abbie herself could not help but rave over her husband's attentiveness. "He's just been an angel," the 27-year-old, who is currently in her second trimester, praised as she talked about the time he went to the grocery store at 11 or 12 P.M. for a heat pack. "He said, 'No, you need this. I want to go get it for you,' " she recalled before adding that he also cooked and cleaned for her.

Abbie and John David tied the knot in November 2018 just months after they got engaged. In August 2019, the couple announced that they're expecting their first child together. "We are on Cloud 9 about welcoming our own little Duggar into the world," they shared in a statement. "It really is amazing to think about being parents and having our own child to raise. We are thankful that God has blessed us with this new life and we look forward to taking on this new adventure!"
