Enraged over the usage of the song at the President's campaign event in Minneapolis, Minnesota, the late singer's team shares publicly their October 2018 agreement.

AceShowbiz - Prince's estate bosses have once again taken aim at U.S. President Donald Trump, after he violated their agreement and used the late singer's tune "Purple Rain" at a rally on Thursday, October 10.

Trump used the song at the campaign event in Minneapolis, Minnesota, going against a written agreement he made with Prince's estate back in 2018, the officials revealed on Twitter.

"President Trump played Prince's 'Purple Rain' tonight at a campaign event in Minneapolis despite confirming a year ago that the campaign would not use Prince's music," they tweeted. "The Prince Estate will never give permission to President Trump to use Prince's songs."

Alongside their tweet, they shared a letter from October 2018 from Jones Day - the law firm that represented Trump's campaign at the time - which stated that the wannabe president wouldn't use Prince's songs at any future events after causing controversy by playing "Purple Rain" at one of his pre-election rallies.

"Your letter requests, on behalf of the Estate of Prince Rogers Nelson ('Prince') that the Campaign refrain from using Prince's Purple Rain, or any other Prince music in connection with Campaign rallies or other Campaign events," the letter reads. "Without admitting liability, and to avoid any future dispute, we write to confirm that the Campaign will not use Prince's music in connection with its activities going forward."

Trump's camp have yet to respond to the agreement violation.

Prince isn't the only artist to have objected to the POTUS using his tunes. Neil Young, R.E.M., The Rolling Stones, Aerosmith's Steven Tyler, Elton John, and Queen are among the other musicians who have called out the President's music choices at official events.
