AceShowbiz - Gwen Stefani has been named the recipient of the 2019 Fashion Icon prize at the upcoming E! People's Choice Awards.
The pop star is being honoured for her success as a style guru and for being the woman behind the brands L.A.M.B and Harajuku Lover.
"It's bizarre, it's crazy," the "Hollaback Girl" singer told E! as she responded to the news. "It makes me think back to (my upbringing in) Anaheim, just looking through Vogue magazine and thinking, 'I'll never get my hands on those clothes, I'm just gonna go to the thrift store and make my own clothes'".
"To get to this point, where I'm getting an award for fashion, is kind of surreal, and it just proves that if you are just true to who you are and just follow your own passion, that weird things can happen".
