A veteran actor, who has appeared in 'Captain America: Civil War', 'Avengers: Infinity War' and 'Endgame', has been spotted on the set of the upcoming Marvel movie reportedly to film a post-credits scene.

AceShowbiz - A familiar character has been confirmed to return in "Black Widow". New photos from the set of the Scarlett Johansson-starring pic have surfaced online, featuring actor William Hurt at the filming location in Macon, Ga. on Tuesday, October 1.

The 69-year-old was photographed wearing a blue shirt, with a navy blue tie and matching pants, while walking with a cane. Hurt is believed to reprise his role of General "Thunderbolt" Ross. He debuted the character in 2008's "The Incredible Hulk" and went on appearing in "Captain America: Civil War", "Avengers: Infinity War" as well as "Avengers: Endgame".

In "Civil War", Thunderbolt is the U.S. Secretary of State who enforced the Sokovia Accords, dividing the Avengers team. He later appeared in "Endgame" during Tony Stark's funeral scene.

Podcaster Charles Murphy took to his Twitter account to report Hurt's sighting on the "Black Widow" set and share his theory about Thunderbolt's scene in the movie. He theorized that the actor was on the set to film a post-credits scene that would serve as a prelude to "a THUNDERBOLTS project." The said scene is believed to feature him recruiting Yelena Belova to the Thunderbolts team.

However, another speculation mentions that Thunderbolt may appear to address Natasha Romanoff a.k.a. Black Widow's actions from "Civil War". In the third Captain America movie, Natasha betrayed the Sokovia Accords in order to help Cap escape and the solo movie may reveal the consequence of her action.

The Black Widow solo movie is scheduled to arrive on May 1, 2020. Besides Johansson, other stars who have been confirmed for the movie are Florence Pugh as Yelena, David Harbour as Alexei a.k.a. The Red Guardian, O-T Fagbenle as Mason and Rachel Weisz as Melina, who is rumored to be the armor-clad villain known as Iron Maiden.

Cate Shortland serves as director, with the script provided by Jac Schaeffer. The movie will also feature Taskmaster a.k.a. Tony Masters as one of its villains.
