According to Joe Coscarelli of The New York Times, he's 'hearing from many industry people that 'Jesus Is King' is not coming on Friday, despite people on the ground in Wyoming trying to make it happen.'

AceShowbiz - Fans might not be able to listen to Kanye West's much-anticipated album "Jesus Is King" on Friday, September 27, after all. Multiple reports have suggested that the hip-hop mogul will most likely not releasing the album on its supposed date.

A source close to the situation told Variety on Wednesday that his album would not be released this week, before adding that Def Jam executives recently had a meeting at his new compound in Wyoming, though it's still unclear why they held a meeting there. Joe Coscarelli of The New York Times echoed the sentiment, saying he was "hearing from many industry people that 'Jesus Is King' is not coming on Friday, despite people on the ground in Wyoming trying to make it happen."

Reps for Kanye have yet to address this report, but his wife Kim Kardashian recently retweeted a post stating that the album would hit the stores on the proposed date.

Fans, on the other hand, were disappointed over this report given that they had long been waiting to hear new music from Kanye. "My disappointment is immeasurable and my day is ruined," one Twitter user wrote, as another said, "Damn!! There goes my weekend." There was also one who refused to believe this report, while one other was still hopeful, "I hope we get Jesus Is King tomorrow if he pulls another yandhi or delays it like tlop ima personally drive to Wyoming and leak it from his ranch."

"Jesus Is King" was first teased by Kim through a picture of a note that had the album's tracklist written on it. Kanye later confirmed it on his website, announcing that the album would be released on Friday, September 27. Including tracks such as "Sierra Canyon" and "Wake the Dead", the upcoming release will follow his 2018 effort "Ye", which debuted at No. 1 on Billboard 200.
