Upon seeing the singer's new hairdo, one other fan points out the double standard that people have against female and male celebrities when it comes to cultural appropriation.

AceShowbiz - Is that you, Adam Levine? The Maroon 5 frontman was pictured rocking a new hairdo and everyone was understandably shocked. The singer sported cornrows while he was driving in his vintage Porsche on Tuesday, September 24 in Los Angeles.

The 40-year-old musician shaved off the sides of his hair and then braided the center strip into cornrows. The braids run from the front of Levine's head to the nape of his neck, while his beard remains in tact. As if Adam having cornrows wasn't shocking enough, the former "The Voice" coach further baffled fans with a rat tail.

In addition to being shocked, fans were not too thrilled about his new 'do. "Did he lose a bet?!" a fan commented, while another person said, "That hairdo does not work for him. Seems more like a midlife crisis hairdo."

One other fan pointed out the double standard that people had against female and male celebrities when it comes to cultural appropriation. "Soooo when a white female celeb gets/has cornrows y'all scream CULTURE APPROPRIATION but when this pasty a** white boy does it - crickets. Oh I see ya," the person wrote. Echoing the sentiment, someone else said, "Ok, why is it ' a lot to process' when Adam Levine does it, but when other white celebrities *who are female* do it, it's ' oh hell no CULTURAL APPROPRIATION ahhhhhh ahhhh' ???"

Adam's new look arrives right after "The Voice" premiered its season 17 on Monday, September 23. During the season, which was the first season without Adam, coach Blake Shelton threw a shade at his former fellow coach. "It's not Kelly [Clarkson]'s fault! She's in Adam's old chair, and it makes her ... possessed! You have to go for the jugular if you're in that seat," the country singer said.

Announcing Adam's absence in season 17, the show tweeted at the time, "Our friend and coach Adam Levine made the decision not to return next season. We're going to miss Adam, but The Voice is family and with family it's 'see you soon,' never 'goodbye.' "
