AceShowbiz - Coco Austin has become the subject of parent-shaming due to a post that she recently shared on her Instagram account. In the post, which featured a series of photos of her breastfeeding her daughter Chanel in a private jet, the model and actress revealed that she's still breastfeeding Chanel even though the girl is almost 4 years old, and that didn't sit well with many people.
Recalling the struggles that she had during the first week when Chanel was born, Coco said, "I hung in there and now almost four years later, Chanel still wants the boob. It's more of a comfort thing now and of course she eats regular, but naptime and nigghtime are our times, and I'm lucky she hasn't grown out [of] it yet because when that moment comes, I will be so sad."
Some people shared the same sentiment as the wife of Ice-T, but many others were not and started shaming her for her decision. There were people who called her "gross" and "disturbing" because of this, with one telling her in the comment, "Coco she's too big for breastfeeding. Give her real milk." One other echoed the remarks, "Seriously she's too old for that she's not a baby anymore."
One individual was apparently so bothered by this revelation that s/he offered Coco a lengthy response that read, "That's not normal to nurse a FOUR year old Kid. It's Soooooo weird and you know it. I dare you to do that in Public. I bet you wouldn't. Let her grow up. She's not a baby or even a toddler!!! It's like you have some sort of dependency issues." Someone else couldn't believe what s/he just saw and wrote, "WHYYY ARE YOU STILL BREAST FEEDING?????"
The user added, "She should have been of the first year.. I cannot stand to see children who still walk around with bottles, pacifiers and still hanging on the boob! Come on now!! 4 years old cut the god damn cord!" Another commented, "I believe in breastfeeding but to a child that's 4 years old ?? That's a little ridiculous. And to be honest that moment should've come and gone."
Coco hasn't addressed the backlash.
