The audience erupts in laughter after the KKW Beauty founder says on stage, 'Our family knows first-hand how truly compelling television comes from real people just being themselves.'

AceShowbiz - Kim Kardashian and Kendall Jenner were among the guests at the 2019 Emmy Awards on Sunday, September 22, presenting the Outstanding Competition Program to "RuPaul's Drag Race". But the sisters had a slightly awkward moment when they were being laughed by the audience at the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles during their introduction.

Before presenting the award, Kim told the crowd, "Our family knows first-hand how truly compelling television comes from real people just being themselves." Her model sister then chimed in, "Telling their stories, unfiltered and unscripted." Instead of giving them warm reaction, the audience erupted in laughter as they believed that their reality show, "Keeping Up with the Kardashians", is not exactly unfiltered and unscripted like they said.

Journalist Elizabeth Wagmeister, who attended the annual event, reported on Twitter, "There was a very loud laugh from the audience when Kim Kardashian was presenting. Laughing at her; not with her. It was uncomfortable (and, in my opinion, uncalled for) in the room." The moment was apparently captured on camera and a lot of people didn't miss it.

Rather than laughing along with the audience, social media users have come to their defense and noted that it is a disrespectful thing to do. "Not as if I like kutwk but when they laughed at Kim and Kendall mmm I don't like this type of disrespectful," one said. Pointing out at Kendall's anxiety issues, another wrote, "Just saying whoever decided to start laughing at Kendall Jenner and Kim Kardashian and everyone who laughed it's just messed up... Kendall has major anxiety."

One individual noted that the audience were "bullying" the sisters, adding, "So rude and disrespectful. These people are still not over the fact that the Kardashians are succeeding?" One other urged them to "respect" Kendall and Kim, before saying, "I'm so sorry that you had to see how disrespectful and rude the Emmys audience was to you guys! All the love and respect for you."
