Asked if she hinted at her role in the upcoming Matt Reeves-directed movie in her recent Instagram post, the 'Diamonds' singer says she 'would love to go in and try out' if she's offered to play Poison Ivy.

AceShowbiz - Rihanna has addressed rumors about her possible involvement in Matt Reeves' "The Batman". The Grammy Award-winning artist stirred the speculations after she posted on Instagram on Sunday, September 8 a video of her rocking Fenty black leather-rubber boot.

The 31-year-old singer/fashion designer suggested that the footwear was inspired by Batman's vehicle Batmobile, as she wrote in the caption, "bat-mobile , but make it fashion! get into this matte leather-rubber fusion tho. @fenty."

The post arrived around the same time her name was thrown in as one of fan favorites to play Catwoman in the upcoming Batman movie. Some others linked Rihanna to the role of Poison Ivy, considering her penchant to dye her hair red.

Met at the 2019 Diamond Ball on Thursday, September 12, the Barbadian beauty was asked by ET if she hinted at a "Batman" role with the post. "Wait did I hint anything?" she asked back, looking surprised that her post started the speculations. "Oh that?! Really? That!? Are you serious?" she added, before setting things straight, "No that has nothing to do with Poison Ivy."

Rihanna, however, did admit that she's obsessed with the character of Poison Ivy, which was played by Uma Thurman in 1997's "Batman & Robin". "That [post] has to do a lot with Batman [because] I have separate obsessions," she revealed. "I have bigger obsession with Poison Ivy, I'm just being honest. And yeah, I died my hair red because of Uma Thurman in the original."

Stressing that she's not offered a part in "The Batman" yet, the "Ocean's 8" star said she wouldn't pass it if the opportunity comes. "You know what, they didn't call me yet. But if they did, I would love to go in and try out because Poison Ivy is one of my obsessions in life," she said. "I did it for Halloween one year, I mean come on!"

While Rihanna is interested to play Poison Ivy, some people have nominated her for the role of Catwoman. It has been reported that director Matt Reeves is looking to cast a woman of color for the said role in his movie.

Besides the "Umbrella" singer, actresses Ruth Negga ("Preacher"), Eiza Gonzalez ("Fast & Furious Presents: Hobbs & Shaw") and Ana De Armas ("Blade Runner 2049") were also thrown as potential contenders for the role, though some argued that the last two actresses, Gonzalez and De Armas, are not women of color. Singer Kehlani, meanwhile, suggested that actress/singer/dancer Teyana Taylor should play the part.

"The Batman", which will feature Robert Pattinson in the title role, is slated to arrive on June 25, 2021.
