'I can't believe she's literally just dry rubbing her hands together and rubbing her face. Like … is this a prank?' one confused fan says after watching the young star pretend to apply skincare products in a video.

AceShowbiz - Millie Bobby Brown is doing a damage control after her recent skincare routine video garners backlash from fans. The "Stranger Things" star has taken to her Instagram account to apologize to her fans for pretending to apply skincare products on her face in the controversial video.

During the demonstration, the 15-year-old actress appeared to show her fans her alleged nighttime skincare routine while using products from her new cosmetics line, Florence By Mills. However, fans were baffled as Millie didn't seem to apply any of the product on her face as she still had perfect makeup on.

"I can't believe she's literally just dry rubbing her hands together and rubbing her face. Like … is this a prank?" one confused fan commented. "The mist is the only thing she actually used! This girl basically just spent two minutes rubbing her face with her bare hands," someone else added with one person saying, "Wow, a magic invisible product that we couldn't even see being applied. Millie is such a great actress."

Following the backlash, the "Godzilla: King of the Monsters" actress explained herself in an Instagram post. "I'm still learning the best way to share my routines as I get to know this space better -- I'm not an expert," she said on Thursday, September 12. "I thought doing a quick video replicating my personal process for that night was okay, but that'S not what was conveyed."

"Millie Bobby Brown's skin care routine video is still ending me. Why is she so silly?? What kind of reception did she expect??" one user Tweeted. One other mused, "That vid of millie bobby brown pretending to put on her own skin care products legit stresses me out like WHY won’t she just put them on whatsnskdndmsm."

"I understand, I appreciate all of your feedback on this journey, please keep sharing your thoughts and I will too!" she concluded the message.

Millie launched Florence by Mills earlier this month. "There was a void in the market for young people and I think every young person deserves to have a good start to their skincare routine and beauty routine," Millie said of her cosmetic line. "Beauty and skincare is always evolving, and Florence is going to grow with [it], and a lot of other people like me. It's going to create a family. I'm really excited for Generation Z to evolve, and for my brand to evolve with it."
