AceShowbiz - Will Smith has jumped back on board the movie adaptation of Marcus Sakey's novel "Brilliance" after initially walking away from the project to film "Concussion".

He will reteam with his "I, Robot" and "I Am Legend" screenwriter Akiva Goldsman for the film, which the pair will also executive produce.

Smith will play hero Nick Cooper, a federal agent tasked with tracking down criminal "abnorms", who use special gifts to commit crimes.

Sakey has turned his book into a series for Amazon, with the sequels "A Better World" and "Written in Fire".
