AceShowbiz - French Montana nearly ended up getting injured when he was out and about in New York City on Tuesday morning, August 27. The "No Stylist" rapper was walking around the Amish Market in Tribeca when a stranger attempted to attack him from behind. Even though he fortunately did not receive the end of the punch, it was enough to make him angry at his security team.
In a video obtained by TMZ, French was seen yelling at members of his security team for not doing their job properly. Even though the video was filmed from across the street, the rapper's angry scream could still be heard. In another video obtained the site, French smacked a bystander's phone after he realized that the man was filming his interaction with his bodyguards.
Things allegedly got worse after that, leading authorities to arrive on the scene to defuse the situation. Fortunately, no charges were made. It's said that the 34-year-old star left the scene without a scratch on him.
Hours prior to the brawl, French attended the 2019 MTV Video Music Awards at the Prudential Center in New Jersey. Presenting the Best Latin Video with Alison Brie, the Moroccan-born rapper got political as he gave a brief pro-immigration speech. "I'm so proud to pronounce (sic) this award," he said. "Because, as an immigrant... I feel like, we are that people that make this country and I feel like I want to be a voice."
Alison quickly echoed his remarks, "What's happening to immigrants in this country in unconstitutional and frankly disgusting!" French then added, "Can I get a hand for that? These nominees -- and most of them are immigrants too -- are on top of the biggest movement in music," before announcing the winner of the category.
