Claiming that he treated Ed Sheeran and Nick Cannon the same way when he took them under his wing, the 'Django Unchained' actor calls speculation about a romance with Sela a 'double standard.'

AceShowbiz - Jamie Foxx has admitted that he let Sela Vave stay in his place despite debunking their romance rumors. The actor/rapper went on Instagram Live after addressing his relationship with the up-and-coming singer on Real 92.3's "Big Boy's Neighborhood" radio show.

In a series of videos reposted by Sela on her Instagram page, the Academy Award-winning actor raved about the recording artist that he's taken under his wing, "She's singing broken down Beyonce, playing the guitar, and I said, 'How the f**k did this happen?' So, we took her under our wing."

Referencing to pictures circulating online that sparked the dating rumors, he explained, "I'm escorting her to my car, to put her in the car - my artist, who hangs out with my kids and is as young as my daughter."

Jamie then confirmed that Sela did move in with him, but insisted that he treated his previous mentees the same way. "When I met Ed Sheeran, I didn't know him from Adam," the 51-year-old said. "He slept on my couch for six weeks. Nick Cannon was 13 years old, he used to sleep at my old house ... everybody come to my crib. I did the same thing with her ... We took her under our wing ... We wanted to treat her the same way and give her the opportunity."

Calling speculation about a romance with Sela a "double standard," he added, "We want to make sure she has the opportunity to show you the talent we saw. All of the unnecessary hate for the woman, just because the guys are coming here and they're working hard, but when a girl does it, she has an ulterior motive. Stop that s**t."

"I know you guys are reading between the lines, but I embrace all the artists who come here," Jamie stressed. "What happened in the press with our girl Sela - that's our family. We don't ever cross the lines like that personally. That's our artist, that's our family, that's our love. She's been brought into the family, she works hard, she's a beautiful singer. I can't wait for you to hear her."

Sela added in the caption of the videos, "For the people who care... here is the TRUE story(swipe)... for everyone else you can keep talking and calling me a whore, slut, home wrecker, thot, gold digger, that I should die, and what ever else you want. Because it doesn't matter to me, I'm out here to work and do what I love most."

Not all, however, were convinced by Jamie's explanation and Sela's statement. "Naaaaah......they definitely fxcking.. we not kids....lol....," one skeptical user commented. Another accused the model of causing Jamie's split from Katie Holmes, writing, "Home wrecker. I feel so bad for Katie Holmes and Suri cruise."

Many others, however, have come to Sela's defense. Offering supportive message, one wrote, "This industry HATES to see a woman succeeding without strings attached. Don't let it get you down, truth & hard work prevail always. Cheering you on."

Another added, "Girl this breaks my heart! I'm sorry you're having to deal with all the haters and judgemental people out there. I read the gossip and it pisses me off to no end! You are a talented girl with a huge heart. DO NOT let those people get you down! Keep your head high and stand up tall. You got this!"

Jamie previously said during a phone interview with Real 92.3's "Big Boy's Neighborhood" radio show, "I got a 25-year-old daughter and I don't date in my daughter's range... ever!" He added, "Big, you got kids and I got kids. I always try to make sure that my daughter can look at me and say, 'Hey dad, you ain't screwing up.' "
