The 'Big Ole Freak' hitmaker has reportedly failed to obtain the correct permit when filming the promo in the Mount Olympus neighbourhood in the Hollywood Hills, California.

AceShowbiz - Megan Thee Stallion's "Hot Girl Summer" video shoot was reportedly shut down by police officials because the star had failed to obtain the correct permit.

According to TMZ.com, the star, real name Megan Pete, was shooting the promo in the Mount Olympus neighbourhood in the Hollywood Hills, California, on Friday, August 9, when officers from the Los Angeles Police Department cut the session short.

The "Big Ole Freak" hitmaker had enlisted rappers Nicki Minaj and Ty Dolla $ign, who also feature on the hit, to star in the clip, and the trio were all set to go at a house they'd booked as the main set for the shoot when the issue arose.

Law enforcement sources told the publication someone reported the session to authorities, who arrived at the scene and swiftly shut down production.

However, it has been reported the stars improvised and were able to secure another location outside of Los Angeles, and managed to complete filming for the music video.

In a behind the scenes shot from filming shared by "Paranoid" hitmaker Ty, real name Tyrone William Griffin, Jr., Megan wore a neon green, zebra print two piece, as she posed alongside a white statue of a horse, while he stood alongside her holding a french bulldog puppy.

"Hot Girl Summer" is out now.
