Admitting that her children are happy she is taking a part in the upcoming film, the 'Maleficent' star promises to 'work very hard to give the Marvel Cinematic Universe the Thena they deserve.'

AceShowbiz - Angelina Jolie has thrilled her kids by taking on a role in Marvel's "The Eternals".

The actress and activist was unveiled as part of the cast of the superhero film during San Diego Comic-Con earlier this month (July 2019) and the star reveals that her six children are excited to see mum in a Marvel blockbuster.

"What's really moving to me is that they want to see me strong, and so it's less to see me in a film, but they're just happy I will be strong and having fun," she tells People.

In the comic book adaptation, also starring Salma Hayek and Richard Madden, Jolie will portray Thena, who is equipped with superhuman strength and speed.

"She's a warrior," Jolie says of the character. "I'm going to have to work very hard to give the Marvel Cinematic Universe the Thena they deserve."

The 44-year-old is also looking forward to teaming up with the film's director, Chloe Zhao, adding, "I think Chloe is going to make a special Marvel film," she adds. "With all the love and respect for the others and what makes them work, we hope to add something new."
