AceShowbiz - After the cast of "The Eternals" was officially announced during Marvel panel at the 2019 San Diego Comic-Con over the weekend, fans may now get the first glimpse at the making of the movie. Alleged first set photos from the studio in England have surfaced online, showing the construction of a classic location from the comic books.

The photos, which were first posted online via Instagram by Bespin Bulletin, show an Aztect temple replica which is currently being built at Pinewood Studios in London. It was initially believed that the set was built for the filming of "Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker", but it's later revealed that the set is for "The Eternals".

Fans of the comic book series may be familiar with the set, since it is the location of a key scene which starts the story. Doctor Damian and his daughter Margo travel with their cameraman Ike (a disguised Ikaris) to examine an ancient Aztect temple only to find that it is the tomb of the Space Gods.

Based on Marvel comic created by Jack Kirby in 1976, "The Eternals" is about near-immortal beings the Eternals and their more gargantuan antagonists the Deviants, who were created by the cosmic beings called Celestials. The Celestials experimented on humans creating both races of immortal spinoffs.

At the Comic-Con, the cast including Angelina Jolie, Salma Hayek and Richard Madden made surprise appearance to confirm their involvement in the movie. Jolie is tapped to portray Thena, a hero with superhuman strength, speed, stamina, durability, agility and reflexes.

Hayek will portray Ajak, a character who can manipulate her cellular makeup, giving them superstrength and healing powers. Meanwhile, "Game of Thrones" alum Madden stars as Ikaris, an ancient Greek hero with special mental abilities.

Other announced cast members are Kumail Nanjiani as Kingo, Lauren Ridloff as Makkari, Brian Tyree Henry as Phastos, Lia McHugh as Sprite and Korean actor Don Lee a.k.a. Ma Dong Seok as Gilgamesh.

Chloe Zhao is set to serve behind the lens, making history as the first woman of color to direct a superhero movie for the studio. Matthew and Ryan Firpo, who topped the 2017 Black List with their spec script "Ruin", penned the script for the upcoming movie, with Kevin Feige producing. The movie is slated for a November 16, 2020 release in the United States.
