Megadeth announces on social media that its frontman has been removed from a scheduled appearance at Heavy Metal magazine's booth because of doctor's orders.

AceShowbiz - Megadeth star Dave Mustaine has pulled out of an appearance at San Diego's Comic-Con International as he battles throat cancer.

The heavy rocker was scheduled to sign copies of the band's graphic novel, "Death by Design", at the convention on Sunday (July 21), but he has been removed from the schedule.

"San Diego Comic-Con International fans, we have some good news/bad news," a band statement reads. "By doctor's orders, we need to cancel Dave Mustaine's appearance at Heavy Metal magazine's booth... Let's all send good wishes to Dave during his treatment and for a speedy recovery!"

Mustaine revealed his cancer diagnosis last month (June 2019) and told fans he had begun treatment. As a result of his health issues, Megadeth have cancelled their 2019 tour.

"Death by Design" was inspired by the songs on Megadeth's 35th-anniversary greatest hits compilation, "Warheads on Foreheads".
