AceShowbiz - For the 2019 ESPY Awards on Wednesday evening, July 10, Usher was among those who were tapped to present the awards. The "Yeah!" singer, who opted for a Houndstooth outfit for the night, took the stage to present the Pat Tillmant Award for Service to a female military hero who lost her leg during the war in Afghanistan.
The award-giving show played an inspiring and empowering video about Marine Corps veteran Kirstie Ennis. The video explained her many wonderful triumphs and accomplishments since. The moment was ruined when the R&B star decided to insert an inappropriate joke.
"And if that wasn't sufficient, you guys do not know, she additionally, too, climbed in Joshua tree, bare," Usher said to a quiet room. "She deserves an award for that, alone. Tattoos, loopy," he added before welcoming Ennis to the stage.
Viewers were not happy with his remarks, prompting them to drag the singer on social media. "What a creepy a** tidbit to throw out there right as this lady is suppose to receive her award, Usher. Sheesh," one fan blasted him on Twitter. Another one added, "Ouch Usher that was theeeee worst timing of a joke I've ever seen."
"Can Usher keep this non-sexual for 5min? Damn, lol," one tweet read. Echoing the same sentiment, another fan said, "Hey usher, probably don’t make weird sexual comment about the Marine Vet who lost her leg and just had a whole inspirational video about her. Just a thought."

The uncalled joke aside, Ennis blew everyone's mind with her inspiring acceptance speech. "I'm one of many fortunate ones who got here residence.
