A little over a month after the 'Take Me Home Tonight' hitmaker went under the knife, it is uncovered that he developed pneumonia as he recovered from the procedure.

AceShowbiz - Legendary rocker Eddie Money is to take the rest of this year off to recover from heart surgery.

The "Take Me Home Tonight" hitmaker went under the knife in May after struggling with shortness of breath and battling through U.S. Memorial Day weekend (May 25-27) shows in Detroit, Michigan, and Arizona.

Eddie, 70, had hoped to return to the stage in June, but his representatives tell TMZ.com that although the surgery was successful, he developed pneumonia during his recovery, and has now cancelled all his tour dates for the rest of 2019.

However, he hopes to return to the road in 2020 to promote his upcoming album "Brand New Day", and his U.S. reality show "Real Money".
