When Spencer is sucked into the 'Jumanji' video game, his friends Bethany, Fridge and Martha re-enter the game to save him and are unexpectedly joined by some new players.

AceShowbiz - The first official trailer for "Jumanji: The Next Level" is here for viewing pleasure. It starts with Spencer (Alex Wolff) opening a bag that contains pieces of the "Jumanji" video game. Missing his friends, he works to repair what remains of the game in the basement of his grandfather Eddie's (Danny DeVito) house. Spencer is inadvertently sucked into the game.

When Spencer's friends Bethany, Fridge (Ser'Darius Blain) and Martha (Morgan Turner) visit his grandfather's house, they learn that Spencer is missing and find the game running. They decide to re-enter the game to save Spencer, but are surprised to find out that their avatars are switched.

Apparently Eddie and his friend Milo (Danny Glover) are also sucked into the game. Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson's Dr. Smolder Bravestone is now Eddie's avatar, while Kevin Hart's Franklin "Mouse" Finbar is now Milo's avatar. Much to his disappointment, Anthony a.k.a. Fridge learns that his avatar is now the "old, fat" Professor Sheldon Oberon (Jack Black). Ruby Roundhouse (Karen Gillan), meanwhile, is still Martha's avatar.

The movie is laced with double dose of humor as Eddie and Milo are clueless about the game. Now Martha and Fridge must help them get used to the game and their avatars to find Spencer and escape "Jumanji" once again. The trailer also offers a glimpse of Nick Jonas' Jefferson "Seaplane" McDonough and a new character played by Awkwafina in a scene set in a snowy landscape.

According to the official synopsis, in "Jumanji: The Next Level", the gang is back but the game has changed. As they return to Jumanji to rescue one of their own, they discover that nothing is as they expect. The players will have to brave parts unknown and unexplored, from the arid deserts to the snowy mountains, in order to escape the world's most dangerous game.

Also reprising their "Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle" roles are Colin Hanks as adult Alex Vreeke, Madison Iseman as Bethany Walker, and Rhys Darby as Nigel Billingsley. Massi Furlan joins the cast as Renaldo, while Dania Ramirez is added in a new role which is yet to be revealed.

Jake Kasdan returns as director, with the script written by Jeff Pinkner and Scott Rosenberg. The movie is scheduled for a December 13 release in the United States.
