Having signed on as Alistair Coop De Ville in the new series, the Godfather of Shock Rock gushes about his character's funny trait and how he feels not having to play a villain for once.

AceShowbiz - Alice Cooper has signed on to join Disney's favourite characters in a new animated children's show.

The rocker will voice the character Alistair Coop De Ville in new series "Mickey and the Roadster Racers".

Cooper can't wait for kids to see the character, telling Entertainment Weekly that animators have given Coop De Ville some odd characteristics linked to the "School's Out" star's stage show.

"It's so funny that they have a snake coming out of my top hat - the two things that Alice is known for," Cooper says, admitting he has always been a big fan of Mickey Mouse's sidekick Goofy, who appears in the series.

"Generally, when I play parts in movies or TV, I'm always the villain," he adds. "It's kind of nice to not be the villain for once."

Alice's episode, in which his character joins Goofy and Donald Duck on a hunt for lost treasure, will air on America's Disney Channel on July 5.
