The former 'Mad Men' star will play an FBI agent investigating the 1996 Olympics bombing drama, while the 'Life Itself' actress will take on the role of reporter Kathy Scruggs.

AceShowbiz - Director Clint Eastwood has recruited Jon Hamm and Olivia Wilde to join the all-star cast of his upcoming adaptation of the 1996 Olympics bombing drama.

The actor-turned-filmmaker has already landed fellow Oscar winners Sam Rockwell and Kathy Bates for the project, formerly called "The Ballad of Richard Jewell", and now Hamm has been added as an FBI agent investigating the incident, while Wilde will play real-life reporter Kathy Scruggs, who was tasked with covering the events as they unfolded, reports Variety.

"BlacKkKlansman" actor Paul Walter Hauser will take on the titular character, a security guard who was wrongly accused of planting the bomb he found in a bag at the Atlanta Olympics in Georgia.

Jonah Hill and his "The Wolf of Wall Street" co-star Leonardo DiCaprio had previously been attached to take on the two leads of Jewell and his attorney, but they are now serving as producers on the newly-retitled "Richard Jewell", which is based on a Vanity Fair magazine article written by Marie Brenner.

The late Jewell's life was turned upside down within days of discovering the backpack containing the explosive.

After initially being hailed a hero, his fortunes took a nosedive as local media outlets reported that he had become the prime suspect, leaving his life in tatters.

He was eventually cleared of all terrorism charges three months later, and went on to become a police officer.
