AceShowbiz - A woman, who was caught talking to Jay-Z during Game 3 of the NBA Finals on Wednesday night, June 5, has spoken up after receiving death threats for her interaction with the rapper. Nicole Curran, the wife of Golden State Warriors owner Joe Lacob, is forced to delete her Instagram account after a video of Beyonce Knowles looking annoyed while sitting between Jay and Nicole went viral.
Speaking to ESPN's Ramona Shelburne, Nicole detailed her conversation with Jay-Z. She said that she was offering the power couple a drink, because the Warriors had invited them to the game. Nicole said the hip-hop mogul wanted a vodka soda and she had to lean over into the space near Beyonce, because of the loudness of the crowd, to ask him if he wanted a lime with it. That's when Beyonce's cheerful face turned serious.
"There was no hostility. I was trying to be a good hostess," she defended her interaction with the couple, particularly with the 49-year-old star. She went on complaining about the harsh reactions from Beyonce fans, "I've never experienced cyber bullying like this. I can't believe our players go through this. That kids go through this."
Nicole added that Jay-Z and Beyonce had been guests of hers and the Warriors three or four times in the past, but there was no incident before.
In the video posted on ESPN's Twitter page, Beyonce was sandwiched between Jay-Z and Nicole, who kept talking to the Roc Nation founder when the camera panned to the couple. The couple was waving and smiling, but Beyonce's smile soon faded and changed into a glaring look as Nicole adjusted her seat and moved forward to continue talking to Jay-Z, not realizing that Beyonce looked annoyed.
Beyhive quickly came into their idol's defense, with many people thinking that Nicole was being disrespectful. "Idc who she is we said BEYONCE wants her gone. She will have to go," one commented on the clip. Another observed, "Excuse Me, Why does that lady keep trying to talk to Jay Z? BEY not having this first she shifts in her seat."
Neither Beyonce nor Jay-Z has commented on the fans' reactions.
