Offering update on her condition after having to scrap two gigs in Florida, the 'Thank U, Next' hitmaker assures her devotees that she is 'slowly making progress.'

AceShowbiz - Ariana Grande is "slowly making progress" after a severe allergy to tomatoes forced her to scrap two concerts in her native Florida this week.

The "Thank U, Next" hitmaker issued a heartfelt apology to fans on Tuesday, May 28 as she announced that night's gig in Tampa, and another in Orlando on Wednesday, had to be postponed until November due to illness.

"Tampa and Orlando, I woke up incredibly sick today, ran to the doctor here and have been told to postpone these shows tonight and tomorrow," Ariana posted on her Instagram Stories timeline. "I'm so beyond devastated."

On Wednesday, the singer shared an update with fans about her condition, revealing doctors had diagnosed her with a serious tomato allergy.

"Update: we discovered ..... that ..... i had an unfortunate allergic reaction to tomatoes and my throat pretty much closed. still feels like i'm swallowing a cactus but slowly making progress!" she wrote.

"thank u (sic) all for your love and understanding. can't wait to get back to performing and to make it up to Tampa and Orlando in November."

Ariana, who has always been proud of her Italian roots, then lamented the way her new illness would affect her diet going forward.

"p.s. there is NOTHING MORE UNFAIR THAN AN ITALIAN WOMAN DEVELOPING AN ALLERGY TO TOMATOES IN HER MID TWENTIES.......," she added.

Ariana's next concerts are due to take place in Miami on Friday and Saturday.
