Just two days after undergoing surgery to treat an undisclosed medical emergency, the WWE legend turns to social media to thank hospital staff, family, friends and fans for all the love.

AceShowbiz - Wrestling superstar Ric Flair has been discharged from hospital just two days after undergoing surgery to treat a mystery emergency medical condition.

The 70-year-old WWE legend was hospitalised in Georgia on 16 May and was scheduled for an operation the following day, before doctors decided to postpone the procedure to take care of undisclosed health "complications," according to his wife, Wendy Barlow.

Flair, nicknamed The Nature Boy, eventually went under the knife on Monday, May 20, and on Wednesday, he was allowed to return home.

He was pictured smiling as he left the hospital in a wheelchair, and has since taken to Twitter to express his gratitude to the medical staff for helping him get back on his feet.

"The Naitch (sic) Is Home!!!" he declared. "Thank You To All The Incredible Staff And Doctors At Gwinnett Medical Center Once Again! I Am So Thankful For All My Family, Friends, And Fans For All The Love. At This Time In My Life, I Never Take It For Granted. I Will Be Back Up And WOOOOOing In No Time (sic)!"

Flair did not reveal why he needed surgery.
