As 'Brain Damage' by Pink Floyd plays in the background, the footage features Paul's character in various precarious situations before he meets one suspicious woman in a dark tunnel.

AceShowbiz - Too much was happening on HBO on Sunday night, May 19. In addition to airing the "Game of Thrones" series finale, the network decided to surprise fans with the first trailer for "Westworld" season 3. The footage arrived just minutes before the night's big finale.

The "Westworld" trailer puts the center on Aaron Paul's character, which seemingly is the new lead of the series when it returns for season 3 in 2020. Set in a futuristic city, it opens with the character saying in voiceover, "Sometimes, it seems like the world looks alright. Like they put a coat of paint on it."

With "Brain Damage" by Pink Floyd plays in the background, he continues, "But inside, it's rotting to pieces. They said they would make a better world, smooth away the rough egdes. But that was a lie."

"I guess the rough edges are the only thing I'm hanging onto," he adds as the footage shows him in various precarious situations. One scene sees him and his two other friends seemingly robbing a bank, while another scene features someone putting a gun at him.

The trailer doesn't show any familiar face from the show, not until the final scene of the video. Set in a dark alley, Paul's character stumbles upon a woman (Evan Rachel Wood) who is struggling to walk. "Do you need some help?" he asks. Before the woman, or robot, answers, the trailer concludes.

In addition to the "Breaking Bad" actor, Lena Waithe and French actor Vincent Cassel are set to join the cast for the upcoming season. Cassel reportedly will be the new villain in the new season. "Westworld" co-creator Jonathan Nolan announced the casting news on Tuesday, April 30, stating, "We're incredibly excited to work with Vincent Cassel. We've been longtime fans of his and are thrilled for him to join the 'Westworld' team."

HBO has yet to announced the premiere date of season 3 of "Westworld", though it's expected to arrive sometime in 2020.
