NeNe Leakes Announces Husband Gregg Is Now Cancer-Free

Several celebrities, including Trina Braxton and NeNe's 'RHOA' enemy Porsha Williams, show their happiness for the good news, with the latter sending 'much blessing' to Gregg.

AceShowbiz - NeNe Leakes and her husband Gregg are overjoyed! "The Real Housewives of Atlanta" star has revealed that her husband, who was battling stage 3 colon cancer, is now cancer-free.

Taking the exciting news to Instagram, the 51-year-old posted a picture of Gregg smiling and holding up a hand-drawn sign that read No cancer found. Praise God." She captioned the Monday, May 13 post, "Look at God! We are over joyed to say, we saw the doctors for the results of Gregg' Pet Scan he took last week! Test show, wait for It…..WE ARE CANCER FREE!!! Yes God!"

She went on joking, "Now i can go give Gregg a black eye since so many thinks he's abused." The Bravo personality concluded her post with several hashtags, including #f**kcancer #f**kopinions #cancersurvivor #pushthrucaretakers and #lifeoftheleakes.

Several celebrities showed their happiness for the news in the comment section. Trina Braxton wrote, "Praise the Lord!" Fellow "RHOA" star Marlo Hampton also commented, "Thank You Jesus."

Additionally, NeNe's foe and "RHOA" co-star Porsha Williams was happy for Gregg. The new mom uploaded Gregg's photo on Instagram Stories and wrote, "God is good. Much blessing @greggleakes."

Gregg also shared the same picture on his own account, captioning it, "Won't He do it ...... Thank you Jesus & Praise God ...... Thank you ALL for your Prayers for me and please continue to Pray during my journey.." He also gave a shout-out to his wife "for being there for me..," adding that "sometimes it wasn't easy..."

The great news arrives a year and eight days since Gregg was diagnosed with the disease. Back on April 3, NeNe revealed that Gregg had completed his 6-month chemotherapy treatment. "This all started May 5th 2018…It's been a long emotional ride for our entire family! Listen up American…..TODAY my husband @greggleakes has completed 6 months of chemotherapy! Awesome job hunni! I'm so happy for you and the strength you showed during this difficult time in your life!" she wrote at the time alongside a video of him thanking and hugging his nurses, doctors and caretakers upon leaving the hospital.

Throughout his cancer battle, Gregg admitted that he was sometimes "difficult" to deal with. "I'm not a poster child for kindness. Nobody's perfect. There was some times, but most times it was on me," the 63-year-old said during "RHOA" season 11 reunion.

NeNe also once called him out in a November 2018 tweet. "I would just think if I have or had cancer, I would see life so differently! Not being mean, grouchy and evil for no real reason! But that’s me. Pray for me," she wrote.
