Sharing a photo taken when a doctor showed their newborn daughter Kaavia James to them for the first time, the 'Being Mary Jane' star tells everyone that 'miracles do happen.'

AceShowbiz - Gabrielle Union celebrated being a mother for the first time on this year's Mother's Day. Taking to Instagram on Sunday, May 12 to mark the holiday, the mother of one shared a never-before-seen picture that showed her and husband Dwyane Wade's honest expression when they saw their daughter Kaavia James for the first time.
In the shot, the couple looked in pure bliss as a doctor was holding up the newborn baby who still had the surrogate's umbilical cord with a scissors attached for the new parents to snip it. Dwyane took a photo of his new bundle of joy with his phone, while Gabrielle put her hands on her mouth as if she was in disbelief.
The newly-appointed "America's Got Talent" judge is grateful for the opportunity to experiencing motherhood as she wrote in the caption, "I've cried so many times today for so many reasons, mainly because I'd gotten accustomed to heartbreak and disappointment. I think a lot (sic) of us live in that space. I set up shop there. This moment reminded me that miracles do happen."
Reminding people that those kinds of miracles can happen to them, too, she continued, "You cant (sic) age out of joy. You are worthy. You are worthy. You are worthy." She went on wishing best wishes to those who have experienced the joy of nurturing a "living soul," saying, "Sending so much love today to all the mamas, stepmamas, grandmas, aunties real and play, daddies, friends and anyone who has taken the time to nurture another living soul. I see you, I gotchu. And to those who have lost their mamas, grandmas, mother figures, sending extra love and light and hugs your way."
Gabrielle and Dwyane decided to use a surrogate mother to carry their daughter after she underwent fertility treatments and suffered numerous miscarriages. Their first child together was born on November 8, 2018. They announced it on Instagram with a statement that read, "We are sleepless and delirious but so excited to share that our miracle baby arrived last night via surrogate and 11/7 will forever be etched in our hearts as the most loveliest of all the lovely days. Welcome to the party sweet girl!"
Dwyane, meanwhile, paid tribute to Gabrielle on his own Instagram account. Sharing pictures of the 46-year-old actress with their daughter and his sons, he praised her, "I put you in an impossible situation and some how you helped me come out of it stronger. I wanna say Happy Mothers Day to my best f***ing friend! Thank you for the Mom that you already are to our miracle Kaavia. Thank you for stepping in and raising those boys just like they were your own."
"Thank you for forgiving me," he added. "Thank you for the daily photoshoots. Thank you for FUN. Thank you for Adventure. Thank you for keeping it sexy. Thank you for pushing me to be a better business man. Thank you for helping me become a better son. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. I Love You and i celebrate you on YOUR day.
