AceShowbiz - Britney Spears left the courthouse in bizarre fashion after attending a conservatorship hearing with her mother Lynne Spears. The 37-year-old singer went barefoot as she left the court on Friday afternoon, May 10.
In a picture obtained by TMZ, the "Oops!... I Did It Again" hitmaker looked disheveled while walking in a parking lot without her shoes or socks on. The Princess of Pop, who was dressed in a dark T-shirt and a red bodycon skirt, ditched her footwear before she even reached her car.
Britney showed up in the court for the conservatorship hearing as her mother is requesting to gain more control over her daughter's affairs. Lynne, however, reportedly has no interest in becoming a co-conservator of Britney's financial and personal affairs, and only demands access to her daughter's medical records.
The courtroom was closed during the hearing because Britney's medical condition was discussed. The pop superstar's fans gathered outside the court, holding posters that called for the end of her conservatorship and asked to "Free Britney."
According to court's decision obtained by TMZ, the judge ordered an expert evaluation on Britney's condition, which she and her parents agreed on. The documents did not specify what the expert would be evaluating, but it's most likely related to her mental health. The judge said the parameters of that evaluation would be set by Britney's father Jamie Spears and a court-appointed lawyer.
Also during the hearing, Britney reportedly asked the judge to allow her certain freedoms, which she's not able to do under the conservatorship. The judge, however, turned down all her requests. The court decision suggests that the mother of two isn't doing well after her 30-day rehab treatment in a mental health facility. It was reported that she she did not come out of the facility in great shape and her judgment is impaired.
Britney has been placed under permanent conservatorship of her father Jamie since her 2007 meltdown. Jamie has been in charge of his daughter's affairs with the help of a court-appointed lawyer, who announced his retirement at the beginning of the year. He, however, has been struggling with health issues since late 2018 after suffering a ruptured colon. The stress over taking care of her father reportedly took a toll on Britney's mental health.
