The 'Crazy Rich Asians' star, who plays Jessica Huang on the sitcom, further prompts fans to think she's not happy with the renewal after commenting, 'Dislike,' on the show's recent Instagram post.

AceShowbiz - ABC recently announced that one of its shows "Fresh Off the Boat" was renewed for a sixth season. While it's supposed to be exciting news for both fans and the stars, one of the stars apparently didn't seem to be happy with that. Following the renewal announcement, Constance Wu let everyone know that she wasn't in her best mood in a series of tweets.

"So upset right now that I'm literally crying," the "Crazy Rich Asians" actress wrote on Friday, May 10. An hour later, she added in another post, "F***ing hell."

She further fueled the speculation with this tweet.

A fan congratulated Wu on the season 6 renewal of her show, writing, "Congrats on your renewal! Great news :)" However, she replied in a now-deleted tweet, "No it's not."

Additionally, Wu, who plays Jessica Huang on the sitcom, commented, "Dislike," on a recent post of the ABC comedy's official Instagram account. The post featured a short announcement video featuring the cast members.

Later, Wu offered a clarification for her tweets and asked people to stop assuming things. "That was not a rampage, it was just how I normally talk. I say f**k a lot. I love the word," she explained. "Y'all are making a lot of assumptions about what I was saying. And no, it's not what it's about. No it's not.. what this all about. Stop assuming."

The actress clarified that she was upset not because of her show being renewed for a sixth season.

A fan, however, argued as s/he said, "You... literally said you were upset and crying over the renewal of a tv show you're in. Of course people are going to ask why that was your reaction to what most actors would be happy about. Care to explain why?" Wu replied to the post, "I said I was upset and crying. I did not say it was over a tv show. You're making an assumption."

ABC and Wu's representative have yet to comment on the matter.

Set in the '90s, "Fresh Off the Boat" follows hip-hop loving teenager Eddie Huang (Hudson Yang) and his family who have lived in Orlando for a few years now. They are assimilating nicely into the suburban American lifestyle. Cultural differences still present everyday challenges, but close friends, neighbors and business partners are there to help them navigate the complexities of raising a family of future Millennials.

Created by Nahnatchka Khan, the series is loosely inspired by the life of chef and food personality Eddie Huang and his book of the same name. It also stars Randall Park, Forrest Wheeler, Ian Chen and Lucille Soong.
