After 'Avengers: Endgame' co-director Joe Russo made a cameo in the movie as Marvel's first openly gay character, he and brother Anthony hint that another gay character will be unveiled in an upcoming film.

AceShowbiz - Marvel Cinematic Universe is opening its door to embrace LGBTQ community. After "Avengers: Endgame" co-director Joe Russo's on-screen role in the movie was revealed to be gay, he and brother Anthony Russo tease about another gay character in Marvel Cinematic Universe.

The topic came up when the Russo brothers are speaking on "EW Morning Live" about Joe's scene in the movie, in which he appears as a grieving man who joins a therapy session attended by Steve Rogers (Chris Evans). Joe's character shares that he went on a date for the first time since the snap and his dating partner, who is a man, is still in mourning.

"It was an integral scene to show how the world was reacting to what happened in at the end of 'Infinity War'," Joe explains the scene. When co-host Dalton Ross asks to clarify if it truly was the first out gay character in a Marvel film, Joe responds, "Yes, openly gay."

He adds, "There've been insinuations about other characters' sexuality, but this is the first openly gay character," prompting the talk about another gay character in MCU. "Who else is gay?" co-host Jessica Shaw curiously asks.

Refusing to share more details, Joe responds, "Uhhh, we're gonna find out!" Anthony hints that another gay character will be revealed in a future film, chiming in, "That's a story for another day." Joe confirms it as saying, "There is a gay character coming up in one of their films, and I think Kevin [Feige] will make that announcement, I'm sure pretty soon."

Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige previously said there are two openly gay characters who would be revealed to the audience. "Both ones you've seen and ones you haven't seen," he teased last summer.

Joe's character is believed to be the one that fans hadn't seen before, which means the second gay character to be unveiled is someone that people have seen. Feige and the Russo brothers, however, didn't say in which film the next revelation would be made, so fans may need to tune into every future film from the franchise.
