AceShowbiz - Prince William and Kate Middleton were beyond excited after Meghan Markle and Prince Harry welcomed their first child, a boy, on Monday, May 6. The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge happily addressed the birth of the royal baby when they visited Greenwich, London for the launch of the King's Cup Regatta on Tuesday.
"We're absolutely thrilled. Absolutely thrilled," William said to reporters with Kate smiling widely beside him. "And [we are] looking forward to seeing him in the next few days when he's quietened down."
William also joked about welcoming his little brother to parenting world which equals to sleep deprivation. "I'm very pleased to welcome my own brother to the sleep deprivation society that is parenting," the father of three said while laughing.
Kate also added, sharing her well wishes for the new parents. "It's really exciting for both of them," Kate said, before adding that "these next few weeks, it's always a bit daunting first time around, so wish them all the best."
"It's such a special time, obviously with Louis and Charlotte just having their birthdays, it's such a great time of year to have a baby," she said of her two youngest children. "As William said, we look forward to meeting him and finding out what his name is going to be."
Harry and Meghan announced the arrival of their son through an Instagram post. "We are pleased to announce that Their Royal Highnesses The Duke and Duchess of Sussex welcomed their firstborn child in the early morning on May 6th, 2019. Their Royal Highnesses' son weighs 7lbs. 3oz," the official account for the Duke and Duchess of Sussex wrote.
It continued, "The Duchess and baby are both healthy and well, and the couple thank members of the public for their shared excitement and support during this very special time in their lives." The royals promised that "more details will be shared in the forthcoming days."
Harry also confirmed the baby news, adding, "It's been the most amazing experience I could ever imagine. How any woman does what they do is beyond comprehension. But, we're both absolutely thrilled. And so grateful to all the love and support from everybody out there. It's been amazing."
