First big name to arrive at the high-profile event in New York City, the 'Shallow' hitmaker embraces the theme for the 2019 bash, 'Camp: Notes on Fashion', with all four of her elaborate outfits.

AceShowbiz - Lady GaGa kicked off the Met Gala pink carpet on Monday, May 06 by pulling off a full quadruple costume change performance at the high-profile New York City event.

The pop superstar, who is serving as one of the co-chairs of the 2019 fundraiser, was the first big name to arrive at the Metropolitan Museum of Art, and she wowed the press as she showed off her hot pink parachute dress, complete with long gold lashes and doll-like makeup.

She was accompanied by a group of dancers, who wore black suits and held up umbrellas as they raised the long train of GaGa's ensemble in the air, creating an extravagant billowing look as the singer/actress posed dramatically for the cameras.

She then retreated back down the stairs with the help of designer Brandon Maxwell as she undid her pink headband and unbuttoned her oversized gown to reveal a strapless black ballgown with moulded hips underneath.

But GaGa wasn't done there - after striking another series of poses, she walked back to the start of the pink carpet and stripped down again to a fitted, floor-length hot pink dress, accessorising her look with sky-high black heeled boots, and a brick cell phone with bejewelled sunglasses.

Her final change came as she ripped off the pink outfit to reveal a glittery black bra and panties with fishnet tights, and pulled along a crate of rose wine in a pink and gold branded Haus of GaGa trailer, before laying down on the stairs to the museum entrance.

GaGa's elaborate costumes fully embraced the theme for this year's bash - "Camp: Notes on Fashion", based on Susan Sontag's 1964 essay, "Notes on Camp".

Other guests expected to grace the pink carpet include co-chairs Harry Styles, Serena Williams, and Gucci creative director Alessandro Michele, while Jennifer Lopez, Miley Cyrus, Kim Kardashian and her sisters Kendall Jenner and Kylie Jenner are also set to attend the Oscars of the fashion world.
