The actor, who played Cliff Barnes on the hit 1980s soap and the 2012 revival, passed away on Sunday, April 21, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Born in Indiana, the TV veteran also appeared in episodes of "Starsky and Hutch", "Diagnosis Murder", and "The Love Boat", and received rave reviews for roles in the original Broadway productions of "Fiddler on the Roof" and "Cabaret".

On the big screen, he appeared in "Network".

Kercheval was one of only two cast members to appear in every single episode of "Dallas" during the original series run from 1978 to 1991. The other was the late Larry Hagman, who played Cliff Barnes' arch-nemesis J.R. Ewing.

Ken married three times and leaves behind five children and six grandchildren.

Details surrounding his death aren't clear, but he successfully battled lung cancer in 1994.
