Fans are gushing over Wendell Pierce's sweet message, as one comments, 'Spoken like a true father! #Zane family,' while another dubs him 'the best dad Meghan ever had.'

AceShowbiz - Many people are excited now that it seemingly won't be long until Meghan Markle and Prince Harry's royal baby arrives. Among those who can't wait for it is Meghan's former "Suits" co-star Wendell Pierce.

Wendell, who plays Robert Zane, the father of Meghan's Rachel Zane, on the USA Network's legal drama, shared his excitement on his Twitter account, adding that he's currently in London for a work. "It's great to be living & working in London while the excitement builds around the Duchess of Sussex soon giving birth to her first child," he wrote on April 8. "Meghan I'm very happy for you. Blessings."

Fans were gushing over the sweet message, as one commented, "Spoken like a true father! #Zane family." Another fan commented, "Nice to see Rachel Zane's dad in London waiting for Baby Sussex birth."

"You are the best father Meghan ever had," one other said. Meanwhile, a fan used the opportunity to take a jab at Meghan's estranged real dad, writing, "Thank you for your kindness. I wish you was her real father instead of monster grifter Thomas markle."

During her appearance on "Suits", the Duchess of Sussex and Wendell shared a close bond. Wendell was also among the few people that Meghan told about her romance with Prince Harry before going public.

"She met this nice guy and we always talked about him in code really. You know, 'How you doing?' 'Oh, I'm going to London, coming from London, whatever,' " Pierce told Harry Connick Jr. on an episode of Harry.

Wendell also sent congratulatory message for Meghan when she announced her royal engagement to the Duke of Sussex back in November 2017. "Congratulations to my TV daughter Meghan Markle and Prince Harry on the news of their wedding engagement," he wrote. "Harry you have her TV Father's blessing. Robert Zane approves."
