Rosie apologizes to Elisabeth after the former 'Fox and Friends' host says her former co-worker's 'crush' on her was 'an objectification of women in the workplace.'

AceShowbiz - Rosie O'Donnell has responded after her confession of her having a crush on Elisabeth Hasselbeck led to a wrong impression. The 57-year-old actress/comedian apologized for getting her former "The View" co-host "scared" and claimed that her "crush" on Elisabeth wasn't sexual.

"hey eh - my crush on u was not sexual - sorry u got scared," she wrote on Twitter on Tuesday, March 26. "surely u recall b4 it all went wrong - i never objectified u - i did find u fantastic - broadway shows - my pool -we were friends once god love ya kid - i always did #hasselbeck #raminSUX."

Rosie revealed her admiration for Elisabeth in Ramin Setoodeh's upcoming book "Ladies Who Punch: The Explosive Inside Story of The View". In an excerpt from the book, the former "The View" moderator admitted that she "loved" Elisabeth and had "a little bit of a crush" on her.

"I think there were underlying lesbian undertones on both parts," said Rosie, who is openly gay. She explained though, "[It's] not that I wanted to kiss her. I wanted to support, raise, elevate her, like she was the freshman star shortstop and I was the captain of the team." She stressed, "But it was in no way sexualized."

But Elisabeth didn't find it flattering. Appearing on "Fox & Friends" on Tuesday, she said, "I'll be very honest: I read it and I immediately started praying. ... And I pray now the Holy Spirit gives me the words to articulate this, but I think it can be addressed with both truth and grace." She added of her former co-worker's comment, "I think what she said was reckless, untrue and, not only insulting, disturbing when it comes to how she felt about somebody in the workplace."

She continued, "If you replace what Rosie said and you take her name out and you put in 'Reuben' or 'Robert' then we would be in a situation where you would see the objectification of a woman in the workplace. That's disturbing because where we may be really against that when it comes from a man to a woman, you don't get a pass because you're a lesbian objectifying a woman in the workplace. You just don't."

Elisabeth revealed that she tried to reach out to Rosie after the book's excerpt was released, but she had the wrong number. "Rosie, I think it was disturbing to read those things and it was offensive to me, but I forgive her," said the 41-year-old, who represented the conservative voice on "The View". "I totally forgive you, Rosie. ... I really hope that we can be at peace and that we can both hold our beliefs in one hand and hold each other's hand in the other and still have a relationship that's at peace. ... Even more than I want to be at peace with her, I hope she finds that peace because God wants that for her too."
