AceShowbiz - It looks like the Avengers have many issues to settle and loose ends to solve before wrapping up another chapter in Marvel Cinematic Universe. "Avengers: Endgame", the next and final installment in Phase 3, is going to be three hours and two minutes long.

The movie's runtime was first unintentionally revealed on the AMC Theatres website, though it's later updated to remove the runtime. Official ticket retailer Fandango then confirms it with a tweet which links back to ComicBook.com's report about the movie's 182-minute length.

News that the fourth "Avengers" movie could be three hours long first emerged in 2018, but the film was still going through editing. When it neared completion in February, there were reports that "Endgame" was still three hours long.

Addressing this, directors Anthony and Joe Russo said that studio Disney was "down with what the best story is." Joe explained without confirming or denying the runtime, "Right now, we think the movie is playing well and we've had great responses from our test audiences and we're feeling very good about where it is."

"We're still doing work to it. We're not done with it. Again, this is a culmination film of 22 movies, it's a lot of storytelling to work into it," he added. "Emotion is an intrinsic part of that to us. When you have to tell a really complicated story and you want strong emotional moments with the characters, it just requires a certain amount of real estate."

Should "Endgame" stick to its 3 hour and 2 minute runtime, the movie will set record as the longest movie in Marvel history. Its predecessor "Avengers: Infinity War" has been holding the record with 149 minutes.

"Avengers: Endgame" is set to bow in U.S. cinemas on April 26. Presale tickets will likely open a month before the said release date, so the official info about the movie's runtime may be revealed soon.
