Having injured her ribs in an accident during rehearsals for 'Gary: A Sequel to Titus Andronicus', the 'Great News' star expresses her heartbreak for having to leave the production.

AceShowbiz - "My Big Fat Greek Wedding" star Andrea Martin has been forced to pull out of a Broadway show after breaking four ribs in an accident.

The actress was injured during rehearsals for "Gary: A Sequel to Titus Andronicus", according to producer Scott Rudin.

She will be replaced by castmate Kristine Nielsen, while Julie White will take Nielsen role in the comedy, which also stars Broadway veteran Nathan Lane.

"I am heartbroken to have to leave the production," Martin says in a statement, "and have tried to convince the doctor that my funny bone is stronger than my broken ribs. But regretfully I must follow the doctor's orders."

"I love everyone involved in this beautiful play and will miss them profoundly. I will be cheering them on from the audience at the Booth Theatre."

Details about what caused the injury have not yet been revealed.
