Met backstage by Kelly Ripa from 'Live with Kelly and Ryan', the 'If Beale Street Could Talk' actress talks about her Best Supporting Actress win and the ladies that presented the award to her.

AceShowbiz - Regina King was convinced she had received a positive sign from God about her Best Supporting Actress Oscar odds after Amy Poehler stepped out onstage as a co-presenter.

The "If Beale Street Could Talk" star reveals she receives a daily newsletter featuring inspirational quotes, and the email which dropped into her inbox on Sunday morning (February 24) promoted a message from Poehler.

The line resonated with Regina, and she started to get a good feeling about her chances of victory that night as Amy joined fellow funnywomen Tina Fey and Maya Rudolph to make a surprise appearance and open the show, presenting the award for her category.

Regina was already a big fan of the comediennes' work, so having them honour her as Best Supporting Actress at the Los Angeles ceremony meant the world to her.

"To have these three women (present the prize), oh my God, that was a huge deal!" the new Oscar winner gushed backstage in an interview for U.S. morning show "Live with Kelly and Ryan".

"I am vibrating right now," she confessed.

Regina then explained the significance of Poehler's presence at the Academy Awards at that particular moment. "What was even more amazing is this morning, I get these emails of quotes, and I got a quote from Amy Poehler this morning...," King recalled, "and so when she walked out (to co-present), I was like, 'God, is this a sign?' And the quote was, 'Surround yourself with people that challenge you and that inspire you,' and I feel like I subscribe to that."

The win for her performance in "If Beale Street Could Talk" marked Regina's first Oscar, from her very first nomination.
