The pregnant Duchess of Sussex also made use of the rare opportunity to throw a royal baby shower with the people she loves including mom Doria Ragland, Serena Williams, Abigail Spencer and more. However, one particular person is missing out the bash.
While Meghan partied across the pond, sister-in-law Kate Middleton was allegedly having a secret vacation alongside Prince William and their three kids at their favorite ski resort, the Courchevel in the Troi Vallees in France. A source claimed that a big reason why the Duchess of Cambridge skipped the shower was because "it's not in line with royal protocol."
Kate didn't throw any baby showers for her three children. ABC News royal expert Victoria Arbiter noted that a baby shower "added pressure that they are clearly very wealthy, and a lavish baby shower would be seen as highly inappropriate. There's nothing they can't go out and buy themselves."
It was also said that the reason why Kate missed the bash was simply because the young royals are not that close. Just last month, both Meghan and Prince Harry missed Kate's birthday celebrations, though the royal representatives insisted that it had nothing to do with rumored feud between the Duchesses.

The party reportedly cost that started from $200,000 according to Vanity Fair to the Daily Mail's guestimate of $300,000. It was said that Serena was footing the bill for the penthouse, which boasts two floors, five bedrooms, six bathrooms and two "powder rooms."
