'This is embarrassing for you and your career,' one fan says after the Australian band announces that they will be hitting the road with the DJ duo.

AceShowbiz - When 5 Seconds of Summer announced that they would be hitting the road with The Chainsmokers for the latter's North American tour, they expected that fans would be happy by the news. However, in contrary, the announcement was met with fury from fans who couldn't quite wrap their minds around their decision to tour with the DJ duo.
Fans have their reason to be angry by the news, with one sharing several screengrabs of The Chainsmokers' controversial interview. During the session, Alex Pall joked that he couldn't bring his dog to China, and many deemed his comment as racist remarks against the Asian community. In result of that, they faced backlash from people.

"This is who 5sos is touring with. im disgusted," so the said fan wrote alongside the pictures. Another declared that they would not be attending the concert, "I don't want to be a hater but I just cannot support a band like them. I guess I'll just wait till 5sos tours alone again."

An individual said, "WHY are you doing this? they are problematic & have done horrible things. im literally so disappointed, this is embarrassing for you and your career." One other noted, "No offense but we're allowed to be angry that 5sos are touring with the chainsmokers because they're s***ty misogynistic, racist people and I don't like that one of my favorite bands is being associated with them. It's not even because of TC's s***ty music. It's them as people."
