The 'Slumdog Millionaire' star reasons that her decision comes from her solidarity to 'women who have come out with their stories, whether they are proven or not.'

AceShowbiz - Freida Pinto has ruled out ever working with Woody Allen again.

The "Slumdog Millionaire" star worked with the director, who has been accused of sexual assault by his adopted daughter Dylan Farrow, on 2010 movie "You Will Meet a Tall Dark Stranger". Allen has strenuously denied the allegations, which Farrow reiterated in a 2014 open letter to the New York Times. However, despite his denial, Indian actress Freida admitted in an interview with The Guardian published on Sunday, January 27, that she wouldn't work with the "Annie Hall" director again.

"No. Absolutely not. I wouldn't work with him because I'm in solidarity with women who have come out with their stories, whether they are proven or not," she told the publication. "I'm just going to stick to what my gut instinct tells me. I'm 34 years old, I've worked for 11 years in this industry, I'm not desperate and I will never be desperate."

Freida joins a lengthy list of actors who have spoken out against the director, including the stars of his 2017 movie "A Rainy Day in New York", Timothee Chalamet and Rebecca Hall. The movie was shelved by Amazon Studios after details of the plot were leaked and it drew criticism for scenes involving an older man flirting with a teenage girl, portrayed by Jude Law and Elle Fanning.

Allen was already facing a public backlash as historic accusations of sexual assault from Farrow continued to resurface in the press, in the wake of the #MeToo anti-sexual misconduct movement.

Chalamet wrote a lengthy apology on Instagram, in which he said that while "contractual obligations" prevented him from speaking freely about his decision to work with Allen, he planned to donate his entire salary from the movie to charity.

"I don't want to profit from my work on this film," he wrote last January.
