AceShowbiz - Contrary to circulating rumors, Kanye West's upcoming album "Yandhi" has nothing to do with his legal battle with Def Jam and Bravado merchandising. It was previously reported by The Blast that the hip-hop mogul refused to turn over his highly-anticipated album until the litigation played out in his favor.

In documents obtained by the news outlet, Kanye claimed that both companies had been exploiting "one of the world's most iconic, multi-faceted and productive talents." The documents additionally stated that Def Jam "unjustly earned millions of dollars by binding Mr. West's recording talents to [Island Def Jam] for an unlawful term."

Due to this agreement, Kanye reportedly decided to keep "Yandhi" out of the market until further notice. He also demanded freedom from the restrictive stipulations of his contracts.

The documents read, "At no point since the commencement of Mr, West's services under the recording agreement and extensions in 2002 has he enjoyed any 'moment of freedom' that is, any moment during which he was freed from his obligations under the contract and able to offer his services to anyone else, take a break from his recording career, or even retire from it altogether."

A rep for Kanye later shut down reports of the lawsuit against Def Jam and called claim of Kanye refusing to turn over "Yandhi" album false. "The Blast article has the unredacted complaint but it's not a new lawsuit," the rep said in a statement to XXL. "It's the unredacted version of the previous filing. Also there's another inaccurate portion about him holding up the ninth album. That's not in the complaint and untrue."

"Yandhi" was supposed to hit the stores on September 29. 2018. Kanye later postponed it to November 23, before announcing that he would delay the album's release indefinitely following a performance at Tyler, The Creator's Camp Flog Gnaw Festival.
