Apologizing for the postponement of the sold-out gig, the 'Pompeii' hitmakers explain that they had exhausted all possibilities to get their tour trucks and buses to Ireland.

AceShowbiz - Rockers Bastille had to scrap a gig in Dublin, Ireland on Sunday night, January 27, due to awful weather conditions.

According to promoters, the band's plans to sail to Ireland were hampered by the adverse conditions, prompting them to cancel a sold out show at the Olympia Theatre.

"Unfortunately, due to adverse weather conditions which have affected Irish Sea sailings over the last 24hrs, Bastille have been forced to cancel their sold out Irish date tonight at Dublin's Olympia Theatre," a statement from MCD bosses reads.

The band, venue bosses and promoters are hoping to reschedule the showate as soon as possible with a further announcement later this week.

"We're gutted that our gig in Dublin tonight has had to be postponed," a statement from the band reads. "We've been trying everything possible in the last 24 hours to get the tour trucks and buses to Ireland, but the bad weather has meant all ferries have been cancelled and none of our gear will be able to make it in time. Huge apologies to everyone with tickets and anyone who's travelled."

The "Pompeii" hitmakers started the year by performing in a rainstorm in New York City as headliners of the Dick Clark's New Year's Rockin' Eve with Ryan Seacrest New Year's Eve telecast.
