Due to the new mattress, the 49-year-old Oscar winner is struggling with pain in his lower back and can't move his body.

AceShowbiz - Matthew McConaughey was left "so sore" after injuring his back in the bedroom.

The 49-year-old Oscar winner revealed he recently woke up one morning next to his Brazilian model wife, Camila Alves, and couldn't move.

Complaining he was struggling with pain in his lower back, he confessed to People it wasn't saucy antics that led to his injury but in fact, a new mattress.

"I'm thinking that I want to get a firmer mattress," Matthew explained. "Our mattress presently has a pillowtop – and my back hasn't been hurting. I took the pillowtop off and I sleep on that mattress without it and I woke up the next morning like I'd been bucked from a bull in a rodeo."

The actor, who is currently starring in new thriller "Serenity (2019)" alongside Anne Hathaway, is now after professional help to get him back into tip-top shape.

"My lower back was so damn sore," he complained. "So now my question is: Is that because my back is self-correcting because it was on a firm, firm, firm mattress? Or do I just need the pillowtop? I'm going right now to go get physical therapy on it."

He laughed: "I'm like, what the hell? It's the damnedest thing."

Meanwhile, Matthew, who won an Academy Award in 2014 for his role in "Dallas Buyers Club", also revealed that he has finally fulfilled his dream of creating his own bourbon.

"It was a new venture for me," the father-of-three said of his Wild Turkey Longbranch liquor. "For over two years I wrote notes on samples and at about the two-year mark, I found the perfect liquid for Longbranch."

And his perseverance finally paid off. "On the other end, they were like, 'C'mon!' I was like, 'Nope, not yet'," he recalled. "'Yes, I'm enjoying this but I'm not saying yes until we've got it just right.' And when we did, that was a moment of pride. Two years is a long time!".
