The unpredictable weather on the 'Downton Abbey' star and his bride Jessica Blair's nuptials only made the celebration more epic with the impromptu performance by Lea and her 'Glee' co-star Darren Criss.

AceShowbiz - Allen Leech's nuptials to Jessica Blair Herman would be ruined if not for Lea Michele and Darren Criss. Opening up about his special day, the "Downton Abbey" star spilled that when heavy rain caused the string quartet he booked for the January 5 wedding fail to show up, the former "Glee" stars stepped up to entertain the guests.

The 37-year-old actor and his actress wife decided to tie the knot at Alisal Ranch and Resort in California's Santa Ynez Valley to get clear sky and good weather for their big day. However, expectation proved to be different from reality. "When you get married in California, you expect sunshine," he told Hello! Magazine, "but a little bit of Ireland blew over on the day and we had some heavy rain."

Though the ceremony was hampered by the unexpected condition, Allen and Jessica weren't left disappointed. "Everyone rallied round, the weather only made the day more epic," he recalled. "Darren and Lea are such great people and great friends, and they said, 'Absolutely no problem' when we told them the situation."

The actor playing Paul Prenter in "Bohemian Rhapsody" continued on, "We grabbed a guitar and they ended up singing the music for our ceremony. Everyone said they had never been to a wedding where everyone was singing before the bride had even arrived."

For the wedding, Jessica wore a Monique Lhuillier gown pairing it with Yves Saint Laurent heels, while Allen donned a deep navy Armani suit with burgundy bowtie. Remembering the time he caught a glimpse of his bride on the big day, he gushed, "The moment of seeing Jessica, oh my God, it was magical. It will stay with me forever."

Allen and Jessica announced their engagement back on Valentine's Day 2018. The two kept their nuptials private by inviting only close family and friends to attend. In addition to Lea and Darren, their wedding had Allen's "Abbey" co-stars Michelle Dockery and Dan Stevens as well as his "Rhapsody" co-star Rami Malek as guests.
